good morning, the weatherman said we could be in the 80's next
week and that sounds great.
lost my computer this week with all of my contacts, pictures,etc.  so
having to start all over and that is not fun.....if those of you who read this would send me an e-mail it would to start a new contact
list.
i am really hoping to get out of the studio next week and do some
plein air painting, i really want to go pinetown and do some there.

monday morning

this is the week of the "little art show",  hope everyone got a small painting into the show.
we also have the martin co art show coming up in april, always a good show. if the weather looks good this friday i might try and do some plein air painting.
   the painting on this page is a large 20 x 24 studio work and i showed the frame because it looked so good on it,  what do you think of it....give me some feedback......later

sunday morning is a good time for me clean up my studio and run over to pick up some suppilies at lowe's, paper towells, rags, and paint thinner. am going to try some of their spray varnish, it is much cheaper than the art supply stores.
i am getting my 2 little 8 x 10 paintings ready for the
LITTLE ART SHOW next month.....later

 i just love winter...don't you. while i am stuck in the studio these bad days.
i though i would try and do some winter painting

its always fun to come out of your confort zone
and try something different.

1. this is the first post of the new year....very cold outside so am painting in the studio...i hate it..plein air season will be here soon..  i painted this truck i saw downtown last weekend and it reminded me of my painting buddie...bob carr.  the other one is  of a lady i saw in one of my maz's and i just made up the background.....i am pleased with it.
2.    the LITTLE ART SHOW is coming up  everyone should go by and pick up your 8 x 10 canvass....later

grimes plantation

have finally gotten around to publishing the plein

air paintings from grimes plantation. i still have
two more i want to do.
it is such a neat place...but hard to get on.
  well winter is here and that means less plein air painting and more studio painting. but we will still some good days , just have to have your equipment ready to go.  till next time...

this is the painting i had entered in the beaufort co. art show last week. i though it was my best work but, the judge didn think so.
  sonetimes i think shows are a waste of time.
WOW  i sound like a sore louser....o well.

painting at leggetts

  this past friday morning i went out to leggetts farm to paint
along with linda griffin from greenville n c .  the weather was
perfect therefore we got a good three hours in which is about my limit in one sitting.
  have been trying to get permisson to paint on the grimes
plantation at grimesland n c .....but not yet.
  the painting in this posting is one that i did appox. two years ago.

this has been a very busy week with all kinds of problems....i need to go out and paint.

i just heard today that southside farms is open for the fall season....a great place to paint.

i think most of the painters have been there before, if you need directions just

i have been having problems with my website uploading new product and i am really thinking about closing out the website and just using the blog.
sometimes this internet stuff just wears me out..

hi guys,   no painting for me this friday  have too much to do.
i now have a new e mail address due to all the problems i had with suddenlink so i will be the next few days changing everything that has the old address on it.

this is the old haunted house just east of chocowinity on patrick road.   i started this painting sitting on my tailgate and finished it in the studio.  i think most plein air paintings are done about the same way.   after it sits around a few days then you can see what needs to be
done to finish...........if a painting is ever finished...i wonder.

hi guys,  did this little painting while i was at the car show in pigeon forge tenn.  then i came back to the studio and did it all over again, sometimes you have got to wait for the paint to dry to  get a really good look at it....it worked...it is now sold.
    had a really good time in new bern this past saturday for national paint out there were about 15 painters there.
    this friday lets all get together at the esturium and the festival park here in washington and do some great plein air painting, i will be there about 9;00....i did this last week and no one showed up except for linda boyer [ check out my last post in this blog]

  should be a nice day according to the news.

hi guys, it has been a while since i posted it has been so hot and i have been  a littlethe
on the lazy side.  i got fired up this weekend and updated my website by adding
about 12 new paintings and just trying to clean it up.
i also got one of the new phones that i can go on the internet with so now i can
take credit cards with the new swipe.
  cool and rainny this am......hope the season is changing.........later

trying to paint this time of year can be tough.
it is so hot and the last couple of days...rain.
   have been working in the studio trying to
freshen up some older paintings and waiting
for a break in the heat so i can get outside.


this painting is a commision for a couple
getting married at the estuarium.
