moss landing

the pamlico plein air painters are at moss landing

painting "water liles" just like monet..very hard to

do, but worth it.

you have to try things you don't think you can do,

its keeps you sharp, ah ah ah plein air painting........what could be better.

friday

had to cancel our plein air outing today, to much going on in town this weekend. the SUMMER FESTIVAL will be on the waterfront and i feel like i need to be in my studio trying to sell some paintings. if you are in town stop in and see me.

spent the day in the studio working on a painting based on a photo that was in the washington daily news. it was of a lady at havens garden fishing for crabs with a string and a chicken neck.

friday paint out

got a little to hot in the studio today, when it gets
above 95 degrees i have to get out. this painting
of the house in the field is where i was born. it is
located in sampson co. close to clinton n c and the good part...it is still there. i painted this about 7 years ago.








this painting was one i started and posted about
a week with no color on it...now the color is on it.











as you will notice there are 2 of these photos...
i do not know how to delete in this blog yet..

today i went to the civic center here in washington n c to see the anual
members show...wow what a great show---so much great art work.
i was so glad to see quite a few paintings that came from our friday morning plein air outings.. when you paint..you learn, and you get better.
and that is a great feeling.
