little art show

hi guys, hope everyone is entering the "little art" show here in town. this is a

show i always enjoy. above are my two enteries.

can you believe this weather.... can't wait to get out there and do a little plein

air, i am going down to the studio now about every day now except when i have

physical theraphty......things are looking better.

after surgery

hi guys, has been awhile since i posted on this blog, just to update you,

on jan. 23 i had a knee replacement and today will be my first day

to step outside. i am so pumped.... as the saying goes, i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. i want to think susan for watching my studio and selling a few paintings for me....and i also want to think my friends who

came by to wish me well and sent me all those e-mails, thank you,

thank you, think you.....most of all i want to think my wife, jackie, without her i could never have got this done. i still have about three weeks of rehab to do.

2012 is going to be a good year and i look forward to painting with all of you.....later

knee replacement

hi guys and girls , just a note to let you know what is going on, i will be off the net for appox 4 weeks due to a knee replacement that will be done tomorrow, monday. as most of you know i had one done about two years ago, i should have two workable legs when this is over

i am really looking forward to getting out there and painting like i want to without pain .....later

visitor

had a nice visit with pete hinkley from greenville n c , he paints with the group"greenville brushstokes" group and with our "pamlico painters group".

it is always good to sit around and talk about my passion...painting.

any time any plein air painters are in the washington area...please stop in.

here are a couple of plein airs that was done in the past 30 days.

i will be getting my second knee replacement done jan. 23 and will be down for appox 6 weeks and then i will be ready for early spring.

wensday painting

this weather has been great... i went downtown yesterday to get some painting in, it was cloudy and overcast like it was going to rain. i sat up on the west end to paint the rowing club and the mill but it was one of those days , i could not get the colors to mix like i wanted and some homeless guy kept messing with me . all in all not a very good for this painter. at about 11;00 am

decided i could do no more damage so i gave up...plus it had started raining a little. i returned to my studio and guess what...the weather started clearing up...just not my day. till next time

white post road

bob carr and myself went down close to bath n c out on white post road to do some plein air painting. the weather could not have been better. this is the time of year that you have to go when you can.

everything is changing color.

more earth colors less greens. i started back with a limited palette, just red, blue , yellow with white. i started painting with this palette but over time i added more colors, but now i will stick to the limited palette.
